MEET DELRAY BEACH'S NEW POLICE CHIEF DARRELL HUNTER

Darrell Hunter has been sworn in as the new police chief in Delray Beach.  First hired as a police officer in 2007, Chief Hunter said it was always his dream to be in this role.
In addressing the crowd at his swearing in ceremony, he said that his goal is to make Delray Beach the safest city in America.  
“I am deeply honored to lead the men and women of the Delray Beach Police Department and to serve this incredible community,” said Chief Hunter.
“Guided by our core values of P.A.C.E.—Professional, Accountable, Consistent, and Engaged and our unwavering standard of excellence, I am committed to fostering a department and community built on trust, integrity, and safety,” he added.
The new chief previously held the position of Assistant Chief, and brings nearly two decades of law enforcement experience to the role.  
He holds a graduate certificate in Criminal Justice Education from the University of Virginia, a Master of Arts in Organizational Leadership from Waldorf University, and a Bachelor of Science in Criminal Justice Administration from Columbia Southern University.  Additionally, Chief Hunter is a graduate of the FBI National Academy and several other prestigious leadership programs.
